Second Hit Aspect Ratio Question

Notice how the "plane" and the building and the smoke all look narrowed.
This video is already wider than a standard video, and still it looks squinched.



Visually, as below looks better to me, just eyeballing it, but I'm hoping one of these frames will show enough to be able to mathematically determine what the correct aspect ratio should be. Horizontal pixels are stretchy, and happy to accomodate any available width. Visually, the frame below looks more accurate, and it happens to be somewhere near the 16:9 aspect ratio of cinematic digital.

Video from a home camera would be smaller and letterboxed to simulate the 16:9 aspect ratio with a 4:3 CCD.
