ISRAEL MUGS THE PALESTINIANS.
It is like Israel has mugged the Palestinians and found $100 dollars in their wallet. When the Palestinians set about physically reclaiming their $100, Israel calls the police (the US/Britain) and has them arrested. The newspapers all report how Israel has been attacked and viciously beaten by the Palestinians (and the Israelis count the money). The police are so incensed at this outrageous Palestinian attack on these poor defenseless Jews that they give them a knife, a gun and nuclear weapons to prevent any such further attacks. These US weapons and the media are ruthlessly used to stop the Palestinians getting back any of their $100.

Some many years latter, a judge reviewing the case for the US (due to pressure from the Palestinians who still can't get used to the idea that they have lost absolutely everything) complains that the police acted improperly, and that there was never a trial. As the US looks at the situation (really for the first time) many come to the realization that the judge is correct, and something must be done.

The solution that has been accepted by many (but not Israel) is that Israel apologize, give back $22 (of the Palestinians $100) and that the US pay massive compensation to the Palestinians......

Obviously, this was an amazing deal for Israel (perhaps the best that they will ever get).
