Lets add up the total periods (in years) that Palestine was under the control of the main religious groups. We will start counting with the Kingdom of Saul in 1050 BC.

MUSLIMS
ruled for 1,199 years.

JEWS,
ruled for 619 years (nearly all of it more than 2,000 years ago).

CHRISTIANS,
including (Christian) Romans, Crusaders and the British, controlled the area for 428 years.
